Tips for Healthy Living and Eating Made Easy

One secret to eating healthy is incorporating things easily so it does not seem so hard on the routine. For instance, avoiding bad things like pesticides and toxins in your diet.

When butter and cream are made of milk from cows that have pesticides in their foods the pesticides concentrate in the butter and cream. Therefore, only purchase these items that are organic.

Next add kitchen herbs and spices into your food in everything you make. Have you ever tried dill on your eggs? You will never eat them again without it! Dandelion can be purchased from many stores in the produce section. If you don’t see it, ask them if they can carry it, then make sure you try it! Dandelion goes well in eggs and is fast and refreshing when you have this breakfast food for dinner. When my children were young, we often had an upside-down day with breakfast foods for dinner. These were usually busy nights when the work day had been long and these items were always in the house to make it easy.

Leftover night. Many people do not like left overs but when you “make it over” then it is no longer a left over. Have a casserole left over? Can you add sausage or other items to change it into something else? Often a noodle and hamburger dinner became a baked casserole with sausage and sliced carrots or broccoli incorporated. Cheese doctors any item up at any time.

These days with life so busy, treat yourself to a healthy self-care night with easy dinner options and turn off the TV and play some games. Get some movement into your day without a full exercise routine (that will keep you awake for the rest of the night) with a slow home-made Tia Chi routine with the kids- don’t worry about getting it right, make it funny with exaggerated movements (think monster mash) and silly faces. Take turns coming up with each new funny movement that everyone has to try. You will give those muscles that movement they need and have fun while doing it. The whole house just might sleep better too.

Summer is here so anything outside goes! Try an after dinner walk or bike ride through a neighborhood you have never been into or a park you have not explored yet. Have a community pool? Take the kids and have a pizza delivered for dinner! We only live once and every moment counts. Wishing you many naturally, healthy blessings.
